Smooth Tubes

Cupronickel Tubes

Cupro Nickel tubes with high erosion and corrosion resistance, excellent weldability and antifouling performance, engineered for marine, offshore and critical heat transfer systems.

70/30 Cupro Nickel Tubes

Tube Tech® produces smooth bore 70/30 Cupro Nickel tubes of the highest standard, rigorously tested for condensers and heat exchanger service. These tubes have the highest resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and are available in a variety of outside diameter, wall thickness and tempers.

This alloy offers improved corrosion resistance and is almost insensitive to stress corrosion, making it ideal where severe erosion and corrosion have been experienced at elevated temperatures, high velocities and extreme turbulence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose 90/10 or 70/30 cupronickel?

+

90/10 cupronickel is the standard choice for seawater cooling, condensers and marine systems, and it offers higher heat transfer at lower cost. 70/30 cupronickel has higher strength and the best resistance to stress corrosion cracking, so it suits high-velocity seawater, polluted water and high-pressure duties.

What sizes can you supply?

+

Both grades are available from 4 mm to 159 mm OD, with wall thickness from 0.4 mm to 8 mm and lengths up to 8 m, in light drawn or annealed tempers.

Which standards do you manufacture to?

+

BS 2871 Part 3, ASTM SB-111, SB-359, SB-395 and SB-466, IS 1545, JIS H3300 and NFA 51-102, plus NES 779 for 90/10 and NES 780 for 70/30.

Are cupronickel fin tubes available?

+

Yes. Both 90/10 and 70/30 cupronickel are also available as SpiralEdge™ Fin Tubes and inner grooved tubes.
